We are listing this very nice little rustically sprigged early 1800s Georgian salt glazed stoneware jug which has been made into a mustard pot with the addition of a domed pewter lid. The jug is sprigged with very rustic classical mythology sprigs, and it is unmarked, which is typical of old salt glaze pieces. It features a rarely seen reeded handle with fake screws at the top join and a feathered tip at the bottom. Based on the look and features of the jug, my best guess would be that it was made at one of the lesser known Derbyshire potteries. With the lid the jug is over 3 inches tall, almost 3.25 inches at its widest point, very interesting looking, and it is in very good condition (the thumb plate on the lid is missing).
