About these signs: My mother Trudy Whyte owned a Racine Wisconsin record shop she started in1949.In the vinyl days ofphonograph records the needle was attached to the tone arm andpickedup the sound. The needles had to be changed before the tip became wornor they would ruin the record grooves. To encourage customers to replace their needle, my momand her brother (my Uncle Norb) thought ofsome cartoon ideas to show how old needles could ruin records. Creating the cartoons was local Racine artist, Wally Wohlust (aka Kerry Wohlust), who later specialized as a lighthouse artist).

The signs hung at the checkout so customers would be reminded to buy a new needle. Some customers wanted to buy the signs, so my mother had 200 printed up by a local letterpress printer in inky prints, now a vintage art.

When I cleared out her oldstore after her death, I found lots of unsold records and some wrapped packages of these unsold signs. I thought people might like the set of threefor their family room -- very mid-century modern in black and red on white card. They would look great in your borderless glass or chrome frames.

Size is 11x17\" for two \"portrait\" aligned and 17x11\" for the one aligned \"landscape.\"

Gracefully aged with good edges, no foxing.
