Kersh Organics uses USDA Certified Organic 100% Grass-fed, Grass-Finished, Pasture Raised Tallow. We get our Tallow from TruBeef Organic in the form of Suet which we render to Tallow.
It is unbleached, unrefined, unprocessed, and not deodorized. This is important because the process of refining creates toxic byproducts (such as Polyaromatic hydrocarbons) which can cause cancer. This type of processing can strip the nutrients, enzymes, minerals, and vitamins naturally occurring in tallow and leave you with a stripped product lacking in these nutritional benefits.
Our Tallow also has a slight yellow tint due to the naturally occurring beta-carotene naturally occurring in beef raised on organic pastures. We do not bleach our tallow to produce a white product. Certain Organic Essential oils may also contain some natural pigment and therefore very slightly color the product.
