One ORIGINAL antique embossed tin sign advertising FAIRY SOAP by N K Fairbank.
The measurements are 14.75\" w x 20\" tall and features the little girl holding the violets sitting on a bar of Fairy Soap. The first paper ad I have of the girl is 1906 - prior to that N K Fairbank used a light blue sign with small white doves on it. When Lever Brothers purchased the company in the early 1930\'s, they changed the packaging to bright yellow with blue lettering & started using \"glamorous ladies\" in their ads.The sign is in remarkable shape for its age considering that it was most likely used outdoors.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I owned this sign for (25) years before I noticed that sometime during it\'s life the bottom 6\" had been cut off & the sides were trimmed about 1.25\" from the original sign.
The edges are a bit rusty & there is a slight crease in it, but the colors are bright.
