These used to be pretty common, and we remember buying one from Bannermans years ago. This one is in far better condition than usually seen, however. It has a nice even black finish and the swivel lid works fine. These were slung on the back of Civil War cannon limbers and battery wagons to hold grease for the wheels. This is the regulation pattern, and guaranteed Civil War manufacture. (Beware of the open top hand made buckets imported from China and foisted on unsuspecting buyers!) Shipping weight 10 pounds.
