Offered is an original Martini Henry Model 1876 Socket Bayonet & Scabbard. These were produced between 1872 & 1890. They fit on a Martini Henry MK I, II, and III 1883 rifle and the Napalese Gehedra Rifle. The triangular blade is well stamped including possibly two dates? “3,00”(March 1900?) & “16”(1916?) The blade is clean & bright, not pitted. The leather scabbard has brass fittings also with stamps. The ove length with scabbard is 25 1/2\". Triangular blade measures 21 1/2\" in length, not counting the socket. Socket is complete with locking ring and screw. The only slight condition issues are a few very tiny nicks on the very edge of the blade(see close up photo). This should be able to be lessened with some mild care. The stitching all looks to be present but there is a short area where it may not be completely through. The scabbard is tight and closed in all areas. This would be a great example for collecting or displaying. Consider the overall condition & offer accordingly.
