ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Nesterov Valerian - born on October 10, 1923, in the city of Dmitriev, Kursk region. Graduated: Kharkov State Art College (1948-1951). Teachers in the specialty: N. Slipchenko, L. Fitileva. The artist is a painter, graphic artist, monumental artist. Painting has a deep lyrical content: soft paints and pastel colors. He painted thematic compositions, portraits, landscapes, mainly the nature of his native land. Performed monumental work, turned to sculpture. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1983. Member of the Great Patriotic War. He worked as an artist in the Kharkov Regional Association of Artists (1951-1953), head of the art department in the Kharkov Regional House of Folk Art (1953-1956), the head of the studio of fine art in the Palace of Railway Workers (1956-1962), and an artist in the Kharkov Art and Production Plant (1956 -1983). By orders of the plant, he performed a number of monumental works in various techniques (mosaic, sgraffito, stained glass, painting). Member of republican, union and international exhibitions since 1958. Personal exhibitions: Kharkov - 1978, 1991, 1997.
