This sale is for an antique Cast Iron and Porcelain foot warmer. It has a bail and wood handle for easy handling. On the bottom is the number \"3\". I found no other marks. I found a similar style and was told it is French. The porcelain is a pale lavender or may be puce color. Hot coals from the fireplace were added to the warmer and the warmer was placed on the home or carriage floor to keep the feet warm. This is a sturdy little piece and could still be used today. Great for stargazing outside on cold nights. The warmer measures approximately 10-1/2\" long, 7-1/2\" wide, 4-1/2\" tall and weighs 6 pounds 6 ounces. The warmer shows wear and use. There is still some soot on the inside. The porcelain has chips, there is some rust. The handle has been replaced. The hinges work well but have wire thru them but they may have had a nut and bolt.
