From ancient western Mexicoa beautifully crafted clay male sitting figure posed with hands restingupon knees. He is adorned with headdress, earrings, necklace and loinclothdisplaying detail on front and back as well as tassels on one side. The adornment suggests that he is adignitary. He is 4.5” tall. He is invery fine condition with traces of original white pigment and some mineraldeposits attesting to long burial. Comeswith custom mount. Excellent provenance: formerly of the Weisman Collection.Acquired in the 1950s-60s.
