This blue-eyed gentleman sits with his arm on a table next to a book. This is larger than usual, a \"quarter plate\", 3.25\" x 4.25\". The distinctive pattern on the mat and the zig-zag preserver (outer brass frame) both date this from 1852 to 1854. Unfortunately some former owned open this dag and slid [!] the plate out from under the mat, causing two long parallel scratches. I\'ve included two separate scans of the naked plate, scanned at right angles to each other. In one scan the scratches are very visible, in the other scan thy are much less visible.

International buyers: I do not use the global shipping program, since it is expensive for the buyer. If you win, I will ask you to pay just the actual cost of international postage.
