Extremely rare and hard to find Moorcroft pottery candlestick holder in the “OBERON” design.
Inspired by the floral descriptions in Shakespeare’s “A Midsimmer’s Night Dream” the Oberon pattern was designed by Moorcroft lead designer Rachel Bishop in 1993.
This gorgeous candlestick holder is in excellent condition. It’s completely free from defects, flaking, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, or fleabites.
The bottom base of the candlestick holder bears the impressions of “MOORCROFT,” “MADE IN ENGLAND.” The impressed cyber mark of an iron dates this piece to 1998 and fired within the glaze is the signature of John Moorcroft and the artist’s initials in faint brown glaze. The original sticker from B&W Thornton Pottery Shop is fully intact and legible.
