Antique Keuffel & Esser (K & E) surveying chain with brass handles and markers. Even though this item is in the 1930\'s to present category, I really don\'t know the manufacture date. The K&E dating guide indicates that if the serial number is in the 6000\'s it was produced in 1902.
Brass handles, all links are there. It splits in the middle for 2 - 50 ft sections. There are 8 brass markers at 10 feet going towards the center, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (round in center). From the other side there is a 1, 2, and 4, so assume it is missing the 3 marker. 8 markers in total.
One handle is marked Keuffel & Esser, New York, 6411The other handle is marked TESTED K&E STEEL 100 Ft No 12
