This listing is for a this rare vintage Swedish stoneware figurine of a curvaceous woman lying down and reading a book. It was designed by the Swedish artist, Lisa Larson, for Gustavsberg, a well known Swedish ceramic manufacturer in the early 20th century. It was created in the 1960s when Larson was working for the Gustavsberg ceramic factory. Made from tan stoneware clay, it is hand-decorated in brown, blue and white matte glaze. She is titled and is from Lisa Larson’s ABC Girls series. This line was designed in 1958. The series consists of five striking women with names starting with the letters A to E: Amalia, Beata, Charlotta, Dora and Emma. This Beata piece still has the original paper Gustavsberg Sweden label as well as Larson\'s name hand written on the base. The figurine measures approx. 3-5/8 inches (9cm) high X 8 inches (19.5cm) long. The figurine is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. chips, or cracks.
