Rare Tuned 1870 Steinway Square Grand Piano, Can Coordinate Shipping For Sale

For sale is a beautiful 100% handmade Steinway Square Grand Piano manufactured in 1870 in Steinway\'s Astoria, NY factory!

After it was manufactured, it was moved to its original destination by Horse and Carriage. It was refinished in the 1970\'s with solid rosewood.

It has been kept in constant climate control in its current location of Fairfax, VA since the 1980\'s.

This Steinway is a wonderful example, and it shows! It contains everything it should, including items that other examples don\'t have. Pianos of today are built with veneer or thin strips of wood laminated together. Over time, the wood bows and twists. You\'ll see none of that on this Piano. Straight as an arrow.

Included is the original chair with original upholstery.

This Steinway has been refurbished inside and out. Note: this is not a \"full restoration\". Refurbishment steps include:

-cleaning inside and out

-removing and cleaning the action, leveling the keys

-adjusting the hammers and trimming them so they clear each other

-lubricating the joints of moving parts inside the action and soundboard with piano oil

-adjusting the dampers

-lubricating the damper rods

-cleaning and polishing the outside with lemon oil
