This spectacular oval Econolite lamp is rare due to a late release date; it was made in 1962, shortly before the company closed. Also Samuelian\'s book notes that the variation in height of the center water stream on St. Peter\'s fountain is \"a striking effect found in only a few other lamps.\" Trevi Fountain is equally beautiful with great detail but both are gorgeous scenes and both show exceptionally well because the oval lamps have barely visible side seams.
This particular lamp is in excellent vintage condition! The color is vivid, there is no warpage or cracking on outer or inner shade or the spinner. There is a small spec of paint loss on the upper right sky portion of St. Peter\'s side and a small amount in the Trevi fountain but I did not even know it was there until I examined the lamp carefully when I decided to list. It has been in my collection for 10 years and I had not noticed (though I usually displayed this side) because it totally blends into the scene both when the lamp is lit or unlit. Please feel free to ask any questions prior to offerding.
I am parting with this beauty due to a move that requires me to limit my sizable collection. It has been lovingly cared for in a smoke free, pet free home. I pack carefully and ship priority mail, hence the shipping cost. Light bulb not included.
