Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Heathkit TT-1 tube tester. At this point these are pretty old, and the old capacitors are weak and failing. We will make them new again!
This kit includes replacements for all 8 electrolytic capacitors and all of the molded and paper caps in a Heathkit TT-1 tube tester, as well as five 1N4007 diodes to replace all of the #57-27 silicon diodes at CR1-CR5. It also includes instructions to explain how to install everything. This does not include any tubes or resistors. You will get the exact parts shown in the pictures. The TT-1 uses a multi-section \"bathtub\" oil capacitor, and this kit does not include parts to replace that. This bathtub capacitor is only used for testing very obscure tubes, and supposedly does not go bad very often, so I would recommend leaving it alone.Many Heathkit TT-1 tube testers suffer from problems with the meter, which can often be traced to a bad copper oxide diode bridge inside the meter. This kit does not include a replacement for this part, which can supposedly be replaced with either germanium diodes and a trimmer or 1N5711 Schottky diodes.Capacitors are Supertech axial capacitors at 630v, 450v, 160v, 50v, and 25v.I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a little complicated, and you should know what you\'re doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit will not fix everything that could be wrong with your equipment, but it will certainly help. Please see my pictures for details.
