Hi all, thank you for visiting my listing! I purchased this truck a few months back kinda on accident and just let it sit and take up space as I was disgusted by my stupidity. I really am only looking to get what I paid for it back out. I have been into the hobby for well over 15 years and am a seasoned RC vet, especially with rebuilding these old nitros. Toolbox obviously not included. When I got this truck, it needed lots of love and parts to get this to where it was presentable and where it needed to be. I have fully rebuilt this truck from the ground up and here’s a list of everything I did:
- The differentials have been rebuilt to factory spec with AE 100k fluid
- The shocks have been rebuilt to factory spec with AE 50wt oil
- The engine is the original Nitro Star 15FE. It has been unseized, has been rebuilt and cleaned, the carb has been rebuilt, a new pullstart was added, and added new head screws were also added. Since rebuilding, I ran it on 30% fuel. A few quirks i’ve noticed in running it is the pullstart chord, which was conditioned with some sort of green chemical, likes to react with some excess fuel and that green chemical turns to liquid and leaks out? Not sure what to make of that. Also the clutch shoes, although original to my knowledge, are really tight though they work. With this I will include some different ones if you feel so inclined to change them. In the coming days, i’ll add a video of the truck running, and of the servos working. After run oil has been added to make sure it’s lubricated properly and doesn’t seize again.
- The truck has been completely cleaned of all dirt and debris and various new parts added too. All the hardware is now correct as well, when I got it, some of them were mismatched. The body is there, but is cracked and is more suitable as a basher body. A few extra parts are included such as front and rear shock towers and front and rear differential cradles.
- Radio and receiver were added to make complete, the servos work good for their age. The radio although not original, is a vintage TF-1 and works good. I’ll velcro the receiver before shipping too. The only thing needed to get this thing going are batteries for the radio and receiver, fuel, and a glow igniter.
With the nature of this hobby, this truck is sold as is, as these nitros are very temperamental with climate changes. I’ve run it and had my fun, it’s time to let it go to someone who wants it and will enjoy it more.
