The Bank of Canada officially opened for business on March 11, 1935, and began distribution of the new small sized banknotes which were to replace Dominion and private issue notes. This series included denominations from $1 to $1000, with notes printed in English and French. The second highest denomination of the series was the $500, and it had the smallest print total, for both English and French text emissions. Only 20,900 notes were printed in English and a scant 5,000 printed in French. Any issued example of the $500 is a prize, as only a few are known to exist, no matter the language. I HAVE WORKED IN THE GRAPHIC DESIGN INDUSTRY IN THE PAST AND SO HAVE USED THESE SKILLS TO RECREATE THESE BANKNOTE TEMPLATES TO THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE STANDARDS AVAILABLE.
I USE A HIGH QUALITY PRINTER/INK THAT I FORTUNATELY STILL HOLD FROM WHEN I WAS IN THE GRAPHIC DESIGN INDUSTRY THAT I HAVE NOW ADAPTED FOR THIS PURPOSE.
I HAVE ACCESS TO MULTIPLE DATABASES ACROSS THE WEB AND HAVE HIGH QUALITY SCANS OF A LOT OF THESE BANKNOTES MYSELF BUT PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I ALWAYS FIND THE BEST PHOTO/SCAN AVAILABLE TO ME AND SOME OF THESE NOTES ARE SO RARE THAT NOT ALL WILL HAVE PERFECT HIGH RESOLUTION SCANS AVAILABLE.
I HAVE USED MY GRAPHIC DESIGN SKILLS TO BUILD SOME OF THESE NOTES FROM SCRATCH. SOME OF THESE BANKNOTES WE KNOW EXIST BUT THERE ARE NO PHOTOS/SCANS LEFT, SO I HAVE BUILT THEM FROM WHAT IS AVAILABLE E.G. SPECIMENS, SIMILAR BANKNOTES AND OTHER DENOMINATIONS.
I TOUCH UP ALL OF THE NOTES TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY WITH THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO ME. BY TRYING TO BRIGHTEN THEM UP, HIGHLIGHT THE COLOURS AND REMOVE ALL THE RIPS AND TEARS
