Rolf Lidberg was born in 1930 in a little red cottage in northern part of Sweden and was the son of a lumberjack.
Early began Rolf Lidberg to draw trolls, eagerly cheered by his father. Rolf always chose to go his own way and immerse himself in what interested him. He learned on his own many languages, did include service as an interpreter of the Italian trail, he was a botanist who is mentioned with respect in high circles. But for the vast majority, he was a magic painter, where he is in everyday situations from his own childhood placed trolls instead of people. His magic drawings attracted attention, since he was a small child; "And since then I have not evolved at all, so I´m still doing trolls" he said, a typical example of his self-irony.
Rolf Lidberg was unique in many ways. It is rare to meet someone so happy with life. He was generous and lentient with others´ faults and shortcomings. His ability to, in easily understood language, tell you about the wonders of nature fascinates both children and adults. Worldwide. he is associated with his troll painting and children´s books. Through his artistry Rolf is loved in many places, you can say everywhere his paintings are. The time will eventually erase the memory of most of us, but Rolf and his paintings will for generations to come bring joy to thousands and thousands of troll lovers. You can say that Rolf Lidberg was a legend already during his lifetime.
