This handsome vintage jacket by Sonia Rykiel has distinctly Asian influenced beading and embroidered embellishments. The mandarin collar also refers to the Asian influences on the design of this jacket. (Please peruse and enlarge photos to see the beautiful beadwork in detail.) If it were not for the fabric and size labels in the jacket, I would date it to the 1940s, but these labels, along with its style and shoulder pads, place it in the 1980s. In addition to its mandarin collar, the jacket has an eight self-covered buttons that close with elastic loops, long beaded sleeves with four-button cuffs, and two hidden on seam pockets.The fabric is an acetate and viscose blend(66/34), and it\'s lined in the same fabric. Labeled French size 44, which is considered equivalent to a US size 12.Even though this is a vintage piece, the sizing seems to be consistent with modern sizing. Pleaserefer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size andcompare with a similar garment that fits you.* Allthe glass beads are weighty and affect the shipping cost.

CONDITION
Excellent condition with no apparent flaws. All beads appear to be intact. Cosmetically, some of the unbeaded fabric is shiny, caused by out-moded pressing methods used by drycleaners on acetate fabrics.
