EARLY Double daguerreotype Union Case (occasionally called gutta percha) depicting a man & woman in period clothes plus some lace. Notice the larger hands that are in the photos are typical of early daguerreotypists. A little bit of tint to the woman\'s cheeks. Image has the remains of very old seals although seals are not intact. There are some plate imperfections as noted in the photographs. Both images are sixth (1/6th) plate in size. Referred to as Krainik #89 The Faithful Hound Double Union Case (scarce). There are only a few tiny fleas and hairlines having been produced in the 1850\'s. Tiny bit of looseness in one hinge. Nice velvet pillow. Closes and opens nicely. Manufactured by Littlefield, Parsons & Co, 1856 pre Civil War era. Nice overall presentation.
