A set of four Mexican pottery coasters from artist Ken Edwards.Dimensions: 4" wide, 3/4" tall
Condition: GREAT vintage used shape
Probably one of the most well-known commercial artists making Mexican pottery is American, Ken Edwards, who migrated to Mexico in the 1960s. His artistic style is easily recognizable (and imitated) but all of his pieces are always found signed, usually with a 'KE'.Like all of his artwork, this set of three coasters is hand-painted. It seems some liberty is given to the artists, making each piece truly unique. Even if one were to purchase their pieces from the same lot, none of the pieces would be exactly identical. You could match the style or motif, like in these three coasters, but you would never find two matching each other identically. These coasters belong to his El Palomar line, no longer being made today. El Palomar was made in blue, green and brown, and the decor could be described as simpler and more minimalistic to the patterns that are being made today.Features:
