Sherline CNC Mill w/ controller + Z Backlash Microkinetics 175 oz-in 5000 series For Sale

One Sherline 5000 series CNC Mill with assembled controller.I had two of these. One is sold. The first few photos show before controller was assembled.This Sherline Millcomes with a fully assembled and tested 3-axis controller, ready for Mach3 or LinuxCnc.
Just recently released from our state University robotics dept. Very well cared for.
Sherline Model 5000 series, could be 5410. See photos as I do not know the difference.
Note: a pc/ computer is not included. Sale is for the CNC milling machine PLUS the CNC controller and interface cables.
I\'ll include a printout for quick port setup in software should you be using LinuxCnc. You supply your own pc.
This Sherline Mill is in very good condition. This controller has e-Stop so the machine AND computer\'sG-code both stop. To resume; rotate/ release e-Stop and you must also press power-on again in the LinuxCNC program. That is not an off switch, it communicates with your computer.MicroKinetics did both Sherline CNC milling machine conversions.

Machine is clean and well maintained.

• TESTED:Machine Spindle sounds good when powering up, smooth speed control. All axis move smoothly. Note some of the stickers (decals on motors) are becoming loose due to normal care and keeping their machine oiled well. Very well maintained, I see no wear. A few normal usage marks like a small nick on the bare aluminum vise-jaws. Clean machine.

Controller: The machine controllercase is heavy aluminum. Drivers are heatsunk directly through heavy 3/16 heat-spreader plates. The entire case itself is the cooler. The controller has an industrial 13,000uf smoothing/ energy cap built in.NOTE: This connects to your computer printer port. So you need a computer with a standard db25 printer port or an add on printer port card. Cables are included. Computer is not included.
I ran this through hours of test loop machining and also hours of pause cycles. Even after hours of use, cool to the touch. The controller is already drilled (back panel and heatsink) and ready for a 4th driver should you desire a 4th axis Rotary table. Use DM542, DM556 or DM860H. Optically isolated through the standard Mach3 breakout board.

• Power Supply: External. Dual input options. It has a standard plug for D/C input 24 - 48 volts PLUS It also has twin banana plug inputs (plug jacks included) for lab or other external D/C power supplies. Use one or the other, not both at once. It does not have to be regulated. Includes one standard brick 24v supply but these will move even quicker on 36V.

NOTE: No changes are required when using a different voltage (ie:36v). The controller itself has e-Stop etc, it does not have an on/off switch. The power switch is on your power supply.
The controller supports MACH3 EMC2/ LinuxCNC among others.Shipping includes VERY secure packing. I always assume it could end up on it\'s top during shipping. So extra care will be used to make certain no shipping damage can happen. Shipping via UPS or FedEx. Lower 48 only.
