1872 Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano in Ebony Finish
This Early Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano (Semi-concert Grand 7 octave, 85 key, 6\' 9\" long, sometimes referred to as a Style 2) appears to be mainly rosewood underneath the ebonized finish (see last photo). This classic Steinway has been restrung with nickel-plated pins installed and new action parts. The new parts and finish have been well-used since the rebuild and this piano probably needs a little work to get it looking and playing at its best. There is a non-original music desk on the piano, it may need some finishing touches on mounting and a final gloss coat but matches very well in style with the spade-type legs and lyre.
This piano appears to have been rebuilt around 30-40 years ago, and plays good considering the age of the instrument but could benefit from a thorough action regulation and general reconditioning.
