Denmark Silver Cup or Vase Dated 1915 with Maker’s Mark
Presented is a solid silver hand hammered cup or vase with a gadrooned base below a flared rim with a twisted rope design separating the top from the bottom. There is a period dedication of Ivar 9-4-16 on one side and a mixed letter maker’s mark CR with marks indicating CopenhagenDenmark silver made in 1915 and an assayers mark of CHF. Danish silver of this period is 826 fine. American standard sterling silver is 925 so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. This is a nice usable piece and is in excellent shape with only a few minor scratches from gentle use. This is an excellent find for the collector of silver and makes a great piece for display.
