Spectacular antique English Parian pottery figure The Distressed Mother. Impressed Reduced From Sir Richard Westmacott by J. P. Peppercorn. After Original carved marble statue by Sir Richard Westmacott 1822, housed in Westminster Abbey. Superior detail of a mother with suckling baby & bundle at bottom. Unmarked, 19th century English, has been attributed to Minton. Measures 13 1/8\" tall. In good condition with chip to underside front edge of lap blanket, some discoloration.
