US Cavalry M 1904 Hooded stirrups MARKED 1909:

A nice pair of the hooded stirrups for the M1904 McClellen saddle. Noe is clearly marked RIA 1904, showing that they are were arsenal made in 1909. This is important because most of the M1904 saddles and stirrups on the market today were made by contractors in 1917 and 1918 for the war effort. By their age, these could have gone with Pershing on the Punative Expedition, or served with the cavalry on the Mexican border prior to WW1.They have been in my collection for 35 years.
They have seen service, and have scratches and dings as shown in the photos. The US in the ovals has become faint.
