DESCRIPTIONMBA 0204, MBB 0207 and MBE 0414 precision leaded thinfilm resistors combine the proven reliability of theprofessional products with an advanced level of precisionand stability. Therefore they are perfectly suited forapplications in the fields of test and measuring equipmentalong with industrial and medical electronics.Production is strictly controlled and follows an extensive setof instructions established for reproducibility. Ahomogeneous film of metal alloy is deposited on a highgrade ceramic body (85% Al2O3) and conditioned toachieve the desired temperature coefficient. Nickel platedsteel termination caps are firmly pressed on the metallisedrods. A special laser is used to achieve the target value bysmoothly cutting a helical groove in the resistive layerwithout damaging the ceramics. A further conditioning isapplied in order to stabilise the trimming result. Connectingwires of electrolytic copper plated with 100 pure tin arewelded to the termination caps. The resistors are covered byprotective coating designed for electrical, mechanical andclimatic protection.The terminations receive a final pure tinon nickel plating. Four or five colour code rings designatethe resistance value and tolerance in accordance withIEC 60062.The result of the determined production is verified by anextensive testing procedure performed on 100 of theindividual resistors. Only accepted products are stuckdirectly on the adhesive tapes in accordance withIEC 60286-1.The resistors are suitable for processing on automaticinsertion equipment and cutting and bending machines.Excellent solderability is proven, even after extendedstorage. They are suitable for automatic soldering usingwave or dipping. The encapsulation is resistant to allcleaning solvents commonly used in the electronicsindustry, including alcohols, esters and aqueous solutions.The resistors are completely lead-free, the pure tin platingprovides compatibility with lead-free soldering processes.The immunity of the plating against tin whisker growth hasbeen proven under extensive testing. All products complywith the CEFIC-EECA-EICTA list of legal restrictions onhazardous substances.Where applicable, the resistors are tested in accordancewith CECC 40101-806 which refers to EN 60115-1 andEN 140100.
