Up for sale is a RARE very early Gatling Gun tin cartridge box. In this sale we are selling the empty tin box with out the ammunition.The Gatling gun was one of the first high rate of fire guns. The first Gatlin gun used a simple hopper to feed ammunition. The cartridges were gravity fed from the cartridge box into the hopper of the Gatling gun. These boxes held about 40 rounds each and are not considered magazines---they were just used to pour cartridges into the guns hopper.

The cartridge box up for sale measures approximately: 14 ¼\" x 5\"x 1 ½\". There is noted rust on the box---carefully review the pictures and please use the enlarging tool provided by E-bay to better view the condition of this cartridge box. There is a slight bend in the metal near the top left side of the box otherwise it appears to be in good condition.
