Very Fine Antique 19th Century Victorian Cherry A.H. Andrews "S" Roll Top Desk


Finest quality antique late 19th Century solid cherry Victorian era "S" form roll top desk made by A.H. Andrews of New York & Chicago, c.1880. Very sought after size of only 48 inches wide X 34 inches deep. Beveled upper section with "S" shape roll. Tambours on roll are actually beveled themselves, which is very uncommon. Fitted interior of small cubbies and small drawers with recent green felt work surface. Lower section having 2 pedestals, each with a pull out return over 4 drawers. Original brass hardware. Raised panels on sides. Finished rear. Original condition and finish still good but desk does show signs of age with scratches and dings. Locking mechanism and lock plate are working but will need some work. Desk measures 48 inches wide X 34 inches deep X 30 inches high to surface X 44 inches high total
