This is a small, 18th-century Chinese silver-linedhorn libation cup from research. The outside of the cup is carved with Chineserelief scenes and characters. The outer cup material could be a Rhino horn. Thesilver part inside is hand-pounded to the shape of the cup and has Chinesecharacters on the bottom. The silver is tarnished. The cup does show signs ofuse and wear. There are two cracks in the outer cup material. The Chinese reliefcharacters could be Immortal, traveler, Chinese landscape, etc. Libation cups wereused for drinking at ceremonial occasions in Chinese scholarly circles.
The cup is approximately 2\" in height, approximately2.5\" in diameter, and weighs 1.7 ounces. The cup is very delicate.
