Luminous vintage 1930\'s lamé evening or bridal dress, in champagne silk satin woven with silver metal threads in a fantastic Deco peony and floral stem pattern. Features a slim bodice with draped front neckline and ties framing back \"V,\" attached waist belt, deep fitted hip band, and flowing skirt. Closes with snaps and hooks along side and has snap bra strap stays.

condition - In good to very good condition overall, with some signs of age and wear, most notably the deterioration of the silk chiffon underlining - which tears easily and has been mostly removed. A portion of the chiffon was left in place for the next owner to match a replacement fabric, if desired (if not, it is easily removed). The fabric along the left bodice seam and snap placket has several small stress tears (photo 8) and there is a similar tear at right hem, by side seam. There is fabric stress along center back seam, up to 1/4\" on either side of seam (beneath neckline ties), and along lower hip seam. There is soiling discoloration across bodice back (photo 9), and light rust stains in three places: at left base of neckline drape (photo 7), on skirt back below lower hip seam (photo 11), and a 1/2\" spot by left side seam of skirt. The lamé has tarnished in areas and there are loose metal threads. The hem facing fabric has some pinhead sized holes (not seen when worn). This dress is being sold in as-found uncleaned condition, and has storage soiling, which is visible on inspection and tactile. An exceptional dress, infrequently found, but would benefit from some caring attention.
