Classic British made 1952 Ferguson model 998T 12” table top TV. Cosmetics of the original finish and veneer are fair overall with some heavy scratches on both sides and a crack lower/right in the front clear plastic/Acrylic screen cover. The knobs and trim are in very good condition. It is complete with often lost original back but no AC cord. The clear plastic screen cover is just a flat piece of easily cut/sized/replaceable Acrylic.
The well preserved, at one time repaired/restored chassis is complete with all tubes including untested 12” picture tube. I can see some replacement parts/repairs on the underside of the chassis. The picture tube still holds it vacuum and displays well, it and all the other tubes are untested.
This is a 220 volt, 50 HZ, 405 line TV for use in the UK. I buy, sell and collect vintage TV’s, I do no electronic restorations/repairs. I am selling this set as pictured, as-is, display only, not working, for parts and repair, no returns.
There are very few 1950’s British TV’s here in the US. My asking price is less than the cost of shipping one FedEx or UPS Economy from the UK. If you ever shopped UK looking for a vintage TV you know most all the sellers of these old TV’s over there won’t pack and ship.
TV measures 19” tall, 17” wide, 22” deep and weighs 40 lbs. It will measure approximately 23” tall, 21” wide, 26” deep and will weigh 50 lbs. packed. Good, strong packing supplies including 2” thick hard Styrofoam to line the box will cost $15. FedEx Ground shipping (cheapest/ best handling ground service) will cost approximately $75.00 depending on where you live. This is only an estimate, the buyer is to pay all shipping costs even if it goes past my best estimate. I will refund any extra money if it ships for less. I do everything I can to keep cost down but some areas of the U.S. are higher than others.
