Vintage 1950s Harmony Roy Smeck flat top acoustic guitar -Everly Brothers style
This one has obviously seen some play over the years and the original bridge has failed. The previous owner added a trapeze type tailpiece to replace the bridge and the guitar has some cracks in the top and a couple minor ones on the back. Interestingly, the guitar still plays well and presents well from a few feet away. The neck appears pretty straight and the action is good until up past the 5th fret, so I don’t this will need a neck reset, but of course after you replace the bridge (if you do) , it may have a different action to it. It plays well up past the fifth fret and then the action does get a bit high, but there is no fret buzzing and it is decently playable just like it is.
The finish is actually pretty good with minimal checking and the guitar has not had any repairs to the body and the cracks aren’t that bad.
We didn’t get a case with it, so what you see is what you get.
This is just a very cool vintage guitar that would make a very neat addition to any collection but which is also playable if you want to play it just like it is.
