Electronic w/ Light and Siren Noise!(See main photos for additional photos of this item)DETAILS:This sale lot is for: Vintage 1976 Mego 8\" Action Figure Vehicle~ STARSKY & HUTCH Car w/ Twist-Out Action ~(Ford Gran Torino)Electronic w/ Light and Siren Noise!Offered for your consideration is a Vintage 1976 Mego 8\" Action Figure Car from the Starsky & Hutch line, the Ford Gran Torino vehicle accessory!The vintage 1976 Starsky & Hutch card has wear - the front bumper is slightly loose on one side, there\'s scratches on the windscreen and hood, as well as misc. scuffs throughout. The original white vector striped sticker is missing (i.e., the \"striped tomato\" look referenced in the show), with light fading where the sticker used to be applied (in some ways, this isn\'t terrible, as it helps to give the new owner the exact placement for where a new/replacement sticker should go!). The small clip on the battery cover has broken off (there\'s a slight nub left that holds it in place when there are no batteries in the compartment, but with batteries added, it requires tape to stay closed). Tape and sticker residue is present as well, as seen in the photos. There is no original box or accessories (or figures) included with the car, only what is seen in the various photos is included.On the plus slide, there are no visible cracks present, with the car still displaying generally nice. The doors still open and close as they should, as well- the steering wheel is present. All wheels rotate, to include the front twist-out wheel. The \'chrome\' on the wheel hubs and bumpers still look good. The rear wheels still have their rubber grip-traction as well. The toy was clearly played with back in its day, but otherwise doesn\'t look abused.The electronics have been TESTED, and appear to partially work! This requires two AA and two D batteries to fully function (*batteries are not included). The two AA batteries power the red light that Hutch would put on the roof. The light still functions great! When you insert the light and twist it into place, it both lights up as it should, as well engages the siren sound (nice and loud!) as designed (whether the light is in or out is essentially how you control the siren noise). The original red string for the light still holds the light as it should.As for the twist-out function/rear drive wheels, the motor still spins strong, but we couldn\'t get the wheels to engage. The on/off switch on the bottom works as it should to turn the motor on and engage this function, as well- we can feel the gearing inter-connected between the two wheels depending on the position of each wheel, but nonetheless, we couldn\'t get the drive wheels to engage. We\'re not sure if something is broken, or if a gear is out of place? There isn\'t anything that rattles in the engine or gearing, and no corrosion is present anywhere (battery terminals or otherwise). All wiring looks to be in place ok. We\'re going to leave it up to the new owner to better diagnose to possibly repair or get the drive wheels to engage.All and all, a rare find from a great TV show! The unit is clean, having been in an adult Starsky & Hutch collection for the last twenty+ years; hoping another collector can give it a good/new home!Buyer to select their shipping option of choice at checkout, ranging from USPS to FedEx.
