vintage Beech Nut canning jar Patented July 11th, 1893 amethyst:
$5.50
very nice jar for those who collect unusual canning jars. this one is marked Beech Nut trade mark with leaves. it has turned light purple (from being in the sun from what I\'ve read) I only found one canning jar like this on the web and it was clear glass. bottom is marked Patented July 11th, 1893 also has the number 80 and I.P.C. I could not find out what the IPC stands for. The C is probably Company but the I and P was not listed on any bottle mark sites that I could find. the inside rim of this jar is very rough and from working at Corning Glass for years, I can tell you that it is probably manufacturing related. this would still be a great addition to any collection, look great on any vintage wedding reception table or just because you think it\'s cool.
