Carl Wagner is a famous American sculptor (1938-2011). He sculpted and cast limited edition bronze during the 1970s, at what he called his Hurricane Hill Art Works, just west of Salida, Colorado. His work ranged from these 6" mugs to life-size buffalo, eagles, and other birds. Ronald Regan (then president) owned 2 of these mugs and later sent Carl Wagner a medal and a note. Wagner did many commissioned pieces for the Federal Reserve, Anheuser-Busch, and American Airlines. His work is in many parks. Each mug is a limited cast of 1000, and then the mold was destroyed. Each mug has a wooden handle that is unique to the mug.
