Dooling tether car in very good condition with McCoy 60 ignition engine.
The photos tell the story. This is a Dooling tether car in very good condition. 16\" long. I bought it from an 85-year-old gentleman who was the original owner. He said it has never been on a race track. The tires are original and like-new. Nothing is bent, warped, or missing on the car. The rear differential moves smoothly. I cannot see any damage except a little scraping on the bottom and some screw holes that appear to me to have been added later. The original owner installed a switch and alligator plugs for external power (you can see them in the photos). You can see the steel coupling for the universal joint in some of the photos.
The engine is an ignition McCoy 60. The owner said he bought it for this car, but never installed it. He said he mounted it on the board only for break-in runs, but it appears to me that he ran quite a lot of fuel through it. The engine has good compression and the crankshaft and needle valve are both free and turn easily. The bearings in the engine feel just a little bit rough when I turn the crankshaft, but that may just be a lack of lubrication. I am including an extra coil, some capacitors, and two extra spark plugs (you can see them in the last photo).
