Vintage Joe Gigl black duck, duck decoy, hunting collectible, Casey Edwards For Sale

Vintage Joe Gigl of Fremont, Wisconsin cork body, wood head, black duck decoy, circa 1930\'s. This Gigl black duck is from the Dennis Edwards estate collection. Dennis and Shirley Edwards were some of the pioneers in the Midwest and Wisconsin in collecting old decoys. Dennis frequented Fremont, Wi. and the Wolf and Fox River\'s area buying collectibles over fifty years ago where Joe Gigl\'s decoys were made and used. This decoy is in good condition and has all of Gigl\'s original qualities, good paint, a tipped forward head with cheek and throat markings, wood tail, wood base board, feather markings on the back and tail, and the dark violet wing patch, as the photos show. It measures 19\" long, and 8\" wide, and 8\" high at the head. It has normal wear and knicks for a decoy from that era. A decoy of this fame and quality does not come along very often.
