This is a beautiful vintage Russian lacquer box from the Ashville North Carolina estate of Sara Graham Peacock.
I recently purchased many boxes from this estate sale. My parents collected these back in the 1980s but I have limited knowledge of them and I don't read or speak the language. I saw these being sold at the estate sale so I purchased them. I'm saving a few for myself and selling the rest.
There is written script along the bottom of the lid but I'm unable to translate the writings.
measures approx 6 3/4" x 8" x 1 7/8" tall. Excellent condition.
