Vintage Medical Doctors Bag--Schell
This bag is an Emdee by Schell and is stamped on the bottom with Schell, as well as, Top Grade Cowhide, and the number 5800-38. The top of the bag has two thick leather handles attached by metal hoops. There is a patent plate and the letters P.M.D. in gold. There is a working lock but no key, so it can be open and shut but not locked. The inside has two fold out trays for storage and a looped strap that holds medicine bottles. The inside is clean and opens on metal hinges. The outside shows some wear from age and use. There are areas with scratches and where the leather is scraped on edges (see photos). One side dents inward slightly (hard leather just bent). The bottom is protected by 9 metal pegs. There is a hole in the bottom leather but does not tear all the way through inner lining; cannot be seen from inside (see photos). It measures approx. 16 1/2\" across x 9\" wide x 11\" tall. It weighs approx. 7.4 lbs. Overall, this is a great collectors piece. I have described this item to the best of my knowledge, however; if you have any questions, please email me prior to offerding.
