Vintage Stetson Straw Hat Size 7 1/4 ~ Shantung ~Round Braid & Horse Hair Band For Sale

I read a whole page or more on how to date a hat by the crest and I still can\'t tell you the year it was made. It has the maple leaf and a union tag.I hope that helps. But I also read that John Stetson didn\'t use union workers. I don\'t know. I think this is a nice hat that has been around for quite a while. I found a lot of Shantung hats but none with the 3woven diamondvents. The hat band is a good one and good looking but I can\'t tell you who made it. I remembered that I have a Sheplers catalog from 1974. I thought maybe the Shantung would be in there and maybe it would have diamond vents. No such luck, it is the fall and winter edition. So I would still like to know how old this fine hat is. I will include the Sheplers catalog which is in great condition (except a stain on the cover) and contains 96 pages of pretty silly looking70\'s western fashion. The Stetson was never silly though and the quality has held true for about a century and a half.Thank you for looking
