Herefor sale is what I believe to be a vintage stoneware jug. It is handthrownas you can see by the marks. It is marked with the number 2 which I take tomean that it would contain 2 gallons of a liquid. The glaze is quite beautiful.I see no makers mark on this. There are no cracks on this jug. There is a chipon the top flat part of the rim where the cork goes in and there is a chip onthe underside or side of the handle. I have shown images of these both. Verydifficult to see when it is sitting. I doubt the cork is original to the jug.This stands approx. 13.5” and is approx. 7.75” across the bottom. Looks very,very nice and weighs approx. 7.5 lbs.
