Vintage Era WW1 Field Trench Shovel. Marked \"U.S.\". Please view pictures. 21 1/2\" Overall length by 6 1/2\" wide. Handle appears to be oak.The shovel is in good, clean, solid condition. There is a split on the top of the wood handle, but it does not go all the way through. The handle is mounted very solid and all the rivets are tight. There is a slight wobble in the T part of the handle because of shrinkage of the wood and there is a little wear to one end of the T (see pictures). It appears that someone has coated the metal parts with varnish.
