It appears to be a humidor to me? It has some condition issues with some blemishes on the brass and on the inside the paper is torn and the tray is loose. The music plays well weather the box is open or closed. The top has such a rich aged color and is in very good condition. It could used a good cleaning but I\'ll leave that up to the buyer. It\'s quit a large piece measuring 8 inches long 5 inches wide and a little under 4 inches tall. Lots of character and fun. Thanks for your interest.
