Very rare model, offered only a few years--and one with killer sound. I expect the first person to go on Youtube and listen to the short clip of Ben Walker playing this guitar will buy it (as I did).
OK, owning this is no guarantee that you can play like that in DADGAD--but at least it\'ll give you a fighting chance to sound like that.
Also, like the one in the video, it\'s got the round labels of the \'96 and, I think, \'97 model. No claim at all that means it sounds better than the later, square-labeled version--all I know is Walker\'s sounds astonishing and so does mine.
Features: Nex (mini-jumbo) body; solid, highly-figured Spruce top; Ovangkol back and sides (GREAT tonewood); rosewood fb; ebony bridge; 43mm at nut; gold Grover type Gotoh tuners; gold strap pin; classic Takamine preamp/pickup (rich and warm).
Low action. Some signs of wear--surface runner (to finish only) on upper treb side bout--see last picture. First few frets show some wear, especially on B string, but no buzzing or problems with intonation--NO ISSUES.
I can\'t imagine any new guitar offered today under $500 coming anywhere close to the sound of this one.
