MANUFACTURER:The William Tonk & Bros. piano company was established in 1889 in New York, NY. The company began as Tonk Bros. Pianos in 1881, established by William, Albert, Charles, Ernest and Max Tonk. Max started the Tonk Mfg. Co. making stools and benches. Tonk & Bros. purchased the McCammon Piano Co. in 1903. Tonk manufactured the Triplex Electric Solo Player piano as well as reproducing grands. Last recorded serial number dated in 1926. No longer in business.
