WW I OFFICER\'S SPURS, LINCOLNSHIRE IMPERIAL YEOMANRY OR MACHINE GUN CORPS For Sale

A PAIR OF FIRST WORLD WAR 1914-18 LINCOLNSHIRE YEOMANRY, OR ARMY OFFICER\'S SPURS.I have already sold one pair and this is a separate listing of a second, smaller pair. They are in good condition with the original straps. They appear to be nickel plated steel and would clean up nicely. They belonged to Lieutenant George Henry Rudkin M.C of Folkingham Manor near Sleaford. He was first in the Imperial yeomanry when they were involved with looking after the horses at the front. He then took a commission in the Machine Gun Corps. He was awarded the Military Cross and was invalided out in October 1918 to have his arm straightened after it had been vaccinated with an infected needle. He was in the military hospital in Lincoln and died in the influenza epidemic on the 28th October 1918, two weeks before the end of the war. The spurs were given to me by his widow Mrs Ethel Rudkin who died in 1984. I am selling them as I would like them to go to a collector who will appreciate them for their local association.
