An original pair of WW1 \"Army Medical Service\" Stretcher Bearers carrying straps. An unused pair with maker and dates of 1917 and 1918.Nice clean originals and rare. These go around the neck and fasten just above the elbows with a strap. The Stretcher handles then fit into the slots and the soldier/medic can take the weight of the casualty across his shoulders etc. We purchase a number of post WW2 metal stretchers last year and this pair of carrying straps were with them. The rest were the the much later type...Very rare straps as used at the front to bring the wounded in a 100 years ago.
