WW2 British Army \'37 webbing anklets / ankle gaiters .

WW1 Robson & co. compass.

Unusual pattern - Large round section 7.5cm across and 1.7cm deep with sighting part on pivot - one screw MISSING as shown.

Some wear to black paint - looks bright lacquered Brass beneath.

There is a lock to side to hold Compass arrow in place.

POSSIBLY KILLED IN ACTION

A Lt. James Henrey Forster of Jesmond, Newcastle-on-Tyne of 2nd/1st (Northumbrian) Field Coy. Royal Engineers was killed in 1915

Letters N.D.R.E. may be Northumbrian Division Royal Engineers - needs further research but local compass maker and initials / name may add up.

A little wear from use but appears to work and will be interesting research item
